There is nothing cuter in the whole wide world than itty bitty kittens. We can all agree on that, right? Kittens are the cutest, and we love them. And for the most part, kittens are also the ones who get adopted the most by people. You get the chance to raise them from their itty bitty selves to majestic and beautiful cats who will sometimes cuddle you and sometimes stick their booties right in your faces.
When you walk into a shelter to adopt a cat, it's hard to not fall for the little ones. But, not every kitten who is in the shelter is ready for adoption just yet. We understand that you want to adopt them when they're kittens, but some things have to happen before they are ready for adoption - they need to socialize with other cats, learn proper cat behaviors like cleaning themselves, get used to being around humans. If you have ever seen how difficult it is to get a feral cat to trust humans, then you know how important socialization at a young age is. The following twitter thread explains that well.
It's amazing how many people who are interested in adopting pets are undereducated about the animal that they want to adopt. These kinds of threads, while may not be the most pleasant, are incredibly important. The more people know about the animals that they want to adopt, the better.
We have heard similar conversations before too, so we know that this happens far more often than it should. And that's not the case when it comes to just cats either - it's cats, dog, birds, even fish. Every animal is different and comes with its own challenges, and we wish people would go out to look for information more often.
