Over 60s Twerk Competition Sets Twitter Alight

No matter how far we progress as a society, ageism is one thing we just can't seem to shake. Even now, many people expect that once we reach a certain age, everything is all senior centers, complaining, and back pain.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with being this way. However, it's a generalization that doesn't fit every older person. Individuals of a certain age might not all be living it up like it's a life insurance ad, but aging gracefully can take many different forms. For some, this involves keeping up with unexpected pastimes, as one video has recently illustrated.

Showing the contestants of an over 60s twerking competition, the recording revealed that there were at least four women out there quite literally competing to overturn certain stereotypes about seniors, with some impressive results. While the performances varied in quality (shoutout to the lady with the chips who's just happy to be there), they still made their mark on Twitter users, who applauded their efforts. As the reaction has proved, they showed that our twilight years don't need to be the most boring ones.
