We always loved watching America's Funniest Home Videos growing up, because it was the best place to go to see… well, funny home videos! The best part for us was when people would send in videos of their pets. We're not sure why, but there's something hilarious about those videos of animals acting stupid that always sends us into fits of laughter. Everyone knows that people are prone to make mistakes– obviously, there's even a Hannah Montana song about it. But animals are supposed to have instincts, they're supposed to be primal, natural beings, you know? How is it that sometimes our pets can be even stupider than we are?
Thankfully, even though we don't watch AFV anymore, we do have Reddit to provide us with a constant stream of new, silly animal content. The page r/AnimalsBeingDerps might be our favorite for that, because it features gifs, pictures and videos of animals acting as stupid as could be, in ways that you would not believe. This week, we found cats playing practical jokes, dogs getting themselves stuck in some tight situations, and even a handful of geese who are having a little trouble. It all had us laughing so hard, we figured we might as well grab the best of the best and roll them all together for you. So, if you need a laugh, or you just want to smile, you're going to want to keep scrolling and give these guys a look.
Here we see a handful of goslings trying to rejoin their parents in the pond. Just one problem– Mom and Dad were able to flap gracefully down the face of this embankment, and are now idling waiting in the water, but the little guys who haven't learned how to fly can't figure out how to join them. Three or four goslings go tumbling before the last one figures out a safer way down. Still though, don't you think those parents could've found them a staircase or something?
Some animals have a hard time being adopted once they wind up in shelters. For whatever reason, be it age, temperament, or just general weirdness, some dogs and cats last longer than others in that kind of environment. This dog Centaur was pegged as one of those, because the shelter found him acting a little strange by sitting in a bucket one day. What they came to find out is that Centaur is actually one of the best dogs in the world, and was quickly adopted, but for some reason he still just loves sitting in buckets!
