  • Night at the Museum, Adults Version

The movies were whimsical as they were magical. Every era of natural history coming alive all for your nightly entertainment sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Especially now that we're adults and most of our childhood imaginations have died along with most of our hopes and dreams, so why am I even mentioning this, you ask? Well, the American Museum of Natural History—in the one and only New York City—offers sleepovers for grownups. Champagne, live music, sleeping beneath that giant famous blue whale seem perfectly romantic and whimsical and magical if you ask me.

  • Gum Wall

To most, the idea of sticking your chewed up wad of gum to an already-existing wall of previously chewed up wads of gum, may seem off-putting, but not according to the statistics. This infamous wall in Seattle is visited so often that it's withstood the winds of time. Or at the very least, two decades of tourists. So take a trip there with your beau, snap a selfie or two, add your own gummy design to the collective. Although, I can't guarantee you'll win a prize other than catching the common cold.

  • Thor's Well

Okay, the name sounds cool in and of itself, but now let's take it one step further and analyze the visual coolness. It's a nearly twenty-foot sinkhole in the Pacific Ocean that was given its name after the mythological Norse God struck it with his hammer, leaving a crater in its stead. Now, call me crazy, but who needs Niagara Falls when you can stare into the eye of a terrifying natural water drain sitting in the middle of the ocean? Take some Vikings trivia questions along with you and bam, you got yourselves a nifty romantic weekend along the Oregon coastline.

  • Mr. Toilet House

You read that right. For the more-than-adventurous couple who love to have a good laugh and generally appreciate such gag humor, I offer you one of South Korea's better hidden treasures: Mr. Toilet House. Essentially, a toilet-themed museum, equipped with everything from curated squatting statues to many other on-theme exhibitions. Sure, it's meant to be the funny, weird, and the quirkiest attraction you've heard to date, but the incentive was to educate the populace on bathroom history, and culture. If something like 'toilet culture' even exists, that is, you're bound to find your education here.

  • Wife Carrying World Championship

This festival that tests male strength at its finest comes once a year! It requires muscly men to carry their female counterparts across a series of obstacles. If this doesn't make you book your next ticket to Sonkajärvi right away, how about this cool tidbit? If you're the couple to finish the crossing line first, your hubby receives a bag of beer that's equivalent to your weight. Not only that, he also gets a LEGO statue of himself. Finland, here we come!

  • Sweden’s Ice Hotel

Want to feel like the Snow Queen for a day? This destination screams more FUN than FUNNY, but how often can you say you've bunked with your significant other in a bed made of solid ice? Or drunk from a wine glass made of ice beneath an ice-constructed chandelier? There may not be a roaring fire, but cuddling provides its own warmth.

  • Crooked Forest

Sticking with the theme of allure, let's dive into the forest of creepy shaped trees for which there's no scientific reasoning to back it. Some trees just do their own thing, apparently. You two can have a Harry Potter themed photoshoot here, taking advantage of Poland's exponentially mysterious forest.
