Abandoned and Motherless Newborn Chihuahua Puppy Gets Adopted by a Motherly Great Dane

Motherly instinct isn't something that every creature on this Earth is born with, but for some, the mothering instinct is strong enough to warm anyone's heart

However, being motherly and being a mother are two very different things and don't always work out the way they should. For one great dane who was incapable of having her own puppies, her prayers were answered one day when she miraculously received her very own tiny baby puppy to care for.

Meet Birdie, the 150lbs black and white great dane. She's a pure bred monster dog with the softest heart on the planet.

Like some adult female dogs do, Birdie was ready to have her own litter of puppies and receded away into the house, roosting a nest and ignoring the reality that she wasn't actually pregnant. Apparently that's a thing.

Along came Froggie, a 3oz abandoned chihuahua puppy that was left on the side of the road to fend for himself alongside his fragile, malnourished brothers and sisters. Birdie's owner found a tiny brood of baby puppies and brought them home to save them-- rather, she brought them home to be mothered and cared for by her gentle giant.

Look how small they were!

Birdie of course immediately took the baby dogs into her gigantic paws. Little did they know, they were about to be loved and cared for by the best mother they never had. Unfortunately though, only one of the puppies survived its first few days in their new home, meaning that Birdie only had one puppy left to shower her love.

That little puppy grew up to be named Froggie, a rambunctious little pup with boundless energy. He certainly gave Birdie a run for her money! Birdie of course, the mother figure, couldn't be happier or more content with her baby.

Now Birdie and Froggie live happily together in their adopted home full of love. Froggie will never fully understand how lucky he is to have a mother and an owner as wonderful as his. He certainly is a one lucky dog.

They were the unlikeliest pair of two doggos you ever did see, but they are both the luckiest and happiest good dogs out there. Mama Birdie got exactly what she wished for, a baby of her own that she could love and take care of for the rest of her days. And baby Froggie got exactly what he needed as well, a loving home and a parent to call his own.
