The "Great Resignation" has turned the workforce on its head. The experience of the waning pandemic gave a lot of workers the time and headspace to reflect on their working situations and reevaluate if it was what they wanted or if they wanted to seek greener pastures.

Many sought to take up positions at new companies within the same trade, seeking better working conditions or compensation. Others chose to re-skill entirely and strike out into a new profession. All the shifting in the workforce, combined with a low unemployment rate of 3.7%, has meant that those who can't manage to be competitive have been left wanting staff.
While some companies chose to improve their offerings to employees, some decided to be vocal about their lack of applicants and turned their blame onto others, declaring the laziness of the workforce to be the problem instead of looking at their shortcomings.
This employer was one of the latter, and last week a photo of the sign they posted in their front window went viral on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit.
The sign reads as follows:
"We are so close, I mean close.
Problem is no one wants a job.Got someone interested in working part-time or full-time, send them our way!
Sitting in your mom and dad's basement playing video games, get off your butt and get a job! Mom and dad signed up for 18 years, not 33+ years!
Let's put our big boy and girl underwear on and get a job"
Readers of the thread were quick to comment on the fact that perhaps the employer's attitude was the reason why they were struggling to find workers.
“Sounds like a fantastic work environment," quipped Redditor mooseplainer.
