Science and maths are some of the most important things that have ever been developed in the course of known history. They've made countless ground-breaking discoveries in their time, but sometimes these things can go too far. While this type of study is capable of some amazing feats, every so often we have to ask ourselves, is all of it really necessary?
One such example of this experimental excess has taken Twitter by story recently, thanks to its graphic and literal depiction of humanity's scale. For whatever reason, somebody decided to figure out how much space it would take up if you blended up every person on Earth into a "fine goo" and shaped into into a sphere. As it turns out, we wouldn't all take up that much space. Being just under 1km wide altogether, the accompanying picture helpfully illustrates that we'd all be small enough to be sat together in Central Park.
Once this bewildering information hit social media, it wasn't long before people were forming some strong opinions about it. While this might be one of the more unlikely population-wiping apocalypse scenarios, we've got to commend the twisted creativity of whichever methodical, mathematical mind decided to come up with it.
