'I told them I wasn’t interested': Customer flees after shady car dealership tries to trap them and force them into paying a higher price

On the one hand, sometimes you completely luck out and find a steal of a deal for less than you thought possible, and on the other hand, you might think you got a good deal only to find that the car had been previously fully submerged in a lake after a brainless GPS user blindly followed a wrong term. On the third hand, (how many hands do we have here?) you might find yourself trapped in a used car dealership that is using fear and sleazy sales tactics in order to get you to agree on a higher price than was first quoted to you.

The same thing goes for selling a used car; sometimes you might find the right buyer and be able to sell your car immediately… and sometimes you might let the “buyer” take your car/motorcycle for a test drive only to have them never return. (True story.)

But, going back to that whole “trapped in a used car dealership” thing… I don't think any of us would actually expect a licensed business to behave in this sort of manner. Restraining someone against their will and refusing to give them the keys to their own car is a new kind of low, even for a used car salesman. (No, offense intended to the good used car salespeople out there.)

For more trouble from used car dealerships… Check out this recent story where another used car dealership tried to keep adding fees to a sale when a client had traveled from out of state. This led to the client walking away from the sale.
