Our society is designed to make us feel like any time we spend procrastinating is a bad thing. Any way in which we're not being a good little cog in the capitalist machine we are supposed to feel guilty about, despite the fact that it exhausts and upsets all of us who aren't robots or wannabe, modern day Patrick Batemans. It shouldn't be that way, though. We all need to have those precious spare hours recuperating and God forbid, even enjoying ourselves. Memes don't always fulfil this purpose — as we're all aware, too much screen time on a daily basis can be very draining. However, they are one of the easiest ways to distract ourselves from everything that we would rather not be thinking about. So stay awhile, and give yourself permission to scroll for at least a few more minutes. It can't hurt any of your prospects any more than it already has.
