There's something sexy about a person who is able to care for things. While many people would swoon over an individual responsible enough to care for a high-maintenance dog, or a slightly chiller cat, there are other beings that need tender love and affection to thrive. We're not talking about turtles, parakeets, or horses. We're talking about plants.
As a city dweller, I'm not seeing many people walking their ferrets or pigs. And many of my peers aren't even permitted to have pets beyond fish. Instead, people become obsessed with "raising" plant children, a feat that while trendy, has proven to be pretty damn difficult. I hear my friends moan and groan about some plant I can't pronounce on the regular. They ask their Instagram followers for advice when leaves become discolored or if something weird starts growing in its pot. But at the end of the day, I can't help but be impressed at the fact that they're able to keep these fussy things alive. When searching for a mate, that's a pretty great quality. Until you get married and that person starts draining your bank account. This danger of plant obsession, as well as others, are well-documented in plant memes such as the ones you're about to see. The risk is real, but who doesn't take risks for love?
