It's hard to not come out of reading this story with a positive attitude. It may be sad to read about a sick kitten having to get its infected eyes removed, but it's still so wholesome to read about how blindness does not hold this kitten back. It's heartwarming. Every story about a blind cat hits us differently somehow. It could be a simple story about how a brave cat proves that blindness cannot hold him back like this one, or it could be a wholesome story about a precious blind cat trying to understand the concept of rain by sniffing the air, or it could be a gut-wrenching amazing story of an incredible blind mom cat leading a man to her kittens to try to get help - happy ending stories like these ones truly hit different.
This story comes with an additional layer of wholesomeness. Because it's not just a story about a blind cat persevering against the world. It's also a story about an incredibly affectionate cat who seemed to want nothing but love and a warm home - and thankfully, he got both.
"Hello! I've been sharing pics I take at Seal Beach Animal Care Center (sbacc.org) in SoCal here and on Twitter & Reddit, (@ShelterCatPics) and Youtube (@ShelterCatVids). I'm making this imgur account too to showcase all the lovely babies who've since been adopted!"
"Diablo by far was one of my favorite shelter kittens. I would have adopted him so fast if I could but alas. He's happy in his new home now. Someone applied just for him when they saw his story! I hope they know how lucky they are to get such a great cat!"
"I was worried about him at first. He had only recently had his eyes removed when he came to the shelter. They were both badly infected when he was found and couldn't be saved. He was extremely needy when he first got here and only wanted to sit on someone's lap and cuddle and would cry whenever they left. The other kittens were wary of him at first but warmed up fast. It didn't take him long to adjust though!"
"Once he got the lay of the land he blossomed and became the king of the room! He got along with almost every kitten and would run and play with them with no problems at all. He could climb up anything and get back down all on his own (usually)."
"He's very floppy!"
"I feel silly now being so worried about him at first. He's a tough cookie and equally sweet and energetic!"
"Look at him go! Who needs eyes?"
