Greetings, ICanHasers, and Happy Wednesday! In true Hump Day nature, we're back with our weekly Power of Love segment where we highlight the top before and after photos of cats that were adopted into furrever homes. While sourcing photos for this week's article, we noticed that there was a huge increase in adopted cats the past week, which made us smile from ear to ear.
We've compiled a collection of 29 before and after photos along with some rescue stories. When we tell you that these will warm your hearts, we really mean it. You guys know how much we love making this segment because not only does it reaffirm the message of adopting, instead of shopping but it also shows us just how far a little bit of love, patience, and perseverance can go. We hope you enjoy these photos and that they too, will inspire you to adopt instead of shopping next time you're looking for a new companion for the house.
"Obi the day he went to my best friend/his forever home and one year later. He had ear mites, fleas, a sunburn on his nose, and burned, blistered paws from hot asphalt. Now he's an outgoing lovable little troublemaker!"
"This is Bella and her two siblings Aries and Luna. I found them abandoned by their mother in my laundry room window. I took them in and found her siblings a home, but I couldn't bear letting Bella go. They are 4 months old and living their best life!"
"Stanley was 17 when he was left at a shelter, I adopted him 2 years ago and he celebrates his 20th birthday this year and is very spoilt."
"In early July 2021, we took Franklin in. He had the WORST flea infestation I've ever seen. I've also never seen a cat so lethargic, and in hindsight, dehydration and heat stroke probably also played a factor. I spent most of two days secluded to a bathroom with him, (we had two other cats) making sure he ate, drank, and he and I slept in the bathtub.
The first image shows the first time I saw a real break in the lethargy. He decided his preferred "comfy spot" was on my upper chest... Hind quarters as close to my neck as possible (which was REAL fun during the flea issue). Over a year later, some habits stick, and I wouldn't have it any other way."
