Just because it's got to the point where we can't live without it doesn't mean that the internet isn't a deeply cursed invention. We have to face it: nobody was ready emotionally, spiritually, or mentally to deal with the giddy highs and lows of the information super highway, and just because we've got used to it doesn't mean that this hasn't changed.
As a result, we are confronted with people doing the dumbest things imaginable on the daily. If you hadn't had at least a minor dose of cringe once you've got to the end of another day online, it has probably been shared by you. Cringeworthy things have always been an integral part of existence, but never have they been as readily available as it is today. It's bad enough that many of have ended up with a dependency on it, and we probably don't want to probe too far into the screwed up reasons for this. Let's just allow it to wash over us, like a shudder-inducing ocean wave.
