"This is to document the conversation regarding the excessive talking between ----- and fellow employees," the contract starts. “Specifically, but not exclusively with ---------.”
The document then goes on to outline the matter at hand and detail the plans for improving the employee's performance. (Keep reading for a transcription below…)
"This is to document the conversation regarding the excessive talking between ____ and fellow employees, specifically, but not exclusively with ____.
It is important that _____ understands that while we want the office atmosphere to be friendly and promote teamwork, she must remain focused on her work, tasks, and deliverables.
______ understands that if a fellow employee is being distracting, she must hold her ground and not join in on the excess conversation.
As of today's date, _____ understands that if the excessive talking does not decrease, further discussions including disciplinary action may be taken.
We also discussed the importance of staying focused on her tasks and not letting other employees pull her from the work she needs to do. She is also will make sure that if her work is complete, she is to immediately seek out instruction or additional tasks.
With regards to headphones, while she does not have to stop using them, one ear must remain open at all times to ensure she can respond to important tasks, however, if there are scenarios when there is a large amount of tasks that are on her plate, and she is having trouble focusing she can ask permission to use both sides of her headphones to help her zero in on completing her work. She must coordinate with her direct manager in these cases so the appropriate people can be aware of the situation.
Our goal is to ensure that ____ grows in her abilities and knowledge at ____ and is a resource for us and her team and not a detriment to the overall performance and productivity of the company."
We gotta agree with the commenters on this one… If you're someone who talks SO MUCH that your employer has to force you to sign a “no talking contract,” there's a VERY good chance that all of your coworkers are silently thanking their lucky stars for the peace that your vow of silence has bestowed on them.
These coworkers have probably already heard everything that you might think to say (at least twice) and are really tired of hearing the story about the vacation you took to Jamaica five years ago. (Looking at you, Cindy…)
Keep reading to see the photos and the comments. Catch you on the next one.
