Going on dates can always cause a little stress, especially when you've only met that person on a dating app. We won't even begin to go into the whole, "online dating is so cringe" monologue. It's all been done before.
But sometimes people truly can find themselves getting surprised by people they've met on the apps. Sometimes the first date is awful but the second one really picks up the slack, and then sometimes the opposite takes place. Some people arrive with test questions, while others just think of a faster way to expedite the physical aspects of the relationship.
You never really know what to expect, but I think we can all agree that random is better than boring. So if somebody goes off script and does something bizarre, at least you have a story.
This woman went on a date with a guy that went so-so, but she was surprised when he contacted her a bit later with a bit of an unusual proposition. He said he knows someone even better for her.
What do we think? Is this acceptable, or insulting? Since the goal of dating apps is simply to meet someone, maybe there's nothing wrong with this at all.
Anyway, let's watch and decide for ourselves
So do we think it's cool to refer your friends to your date if you both agree that it didn't go so well? Sometimes the chemistry just isn't there and it's not really anybody's fault. But what if one person is fully confident that the date did go well? And even worse, what if they've truly caught feelings? Then this referral would probably not feel so endearing. The good thing about this system is that you don't have to go along with the referral if you don't want. If you don't like their friend you can just say, “No thanks!” And carry on with your life.
