We've already established that cats are a big part of the Islamic culture and religion. From being welcomed into holy mosques to being gifted their very own tiny prayer mats, cats are not only adored by the people of Islam but also admired for how clean and well-kept they are. If you really think about it, this isn't that surprising. Cats have been a part of our lives for centuries and have always made the best companions. While some people may appreciate them for their cleanliness, others appreciate them for their logic. The bottom line is - cats were, are, and always will be an inherent part of society, especially in Morocco.
We recently stumbled upon a Twitter thread where someone shared 24 photos of cats lounging, strolling, and living their best lives on the streets of Morocco. While the cats are obviously the main part of the show, we'd like to take a paws and admire how beautiful the streets of Morocco are and how lively the architecture is. We hope you enjoy!
"Oh, hey guys! Didn't see you there. Oh, excuse me for being so rude. Welcome to my crib, come on in. Sorry, it's a bit messy here, wasn't expecting guests. But no worries, I love surprises. I was just getting ready to head out for a prayer, wanna come?"
"Zellige is a handcrafted clay tile that originates from Morocco. Zellige tiles are colourful and known for their variations in tone, shine, flatness & depth of the glazing. A cat with zellige tiles in Morocco"
We can't stop staring at this. An absolute masterpiece.
