Bridezilla Unleashes Her Unbridled Rage On Her Sister At Wedding, Refuses To Apologize For Her Behavior

We understand being stressed on your wedding day, but there's really no need to take it out on your closest family and friends that care about you the most. There's a whole lot of planning that goes into a wedding, and the bride and groom want nothing more than for everything to go smoothly. After all, you only get married once (hopefully). The bridesmaids and groomsmen want to do everything they possibly can to perfect the special day, but there's only so much they can do until they go a little crazy. Singling one of your bridesmaids or groomsmen out for no reason is so cruel, especially when they did nothing to receive such a nasty attitude. In today's 'Am I the A$$hole?' post, OP tells us about how her bridezilla sister singled her out on her wedding day for no reason. It got so bad at one point that OP decided to hide from the bride.     Font - I (24F) was in my sister Bree's (33F) wedding a couple of months ago. Bree and I have never been super close. However, our dad really instilled in her that she needed to "take care" of me because I'm younger. I didn't get that same "sisterly connection" stuff instilled in me.

    Font - Bree and I have similar anxiety and anger issues. We both get stressed out easily and are quick to anger. As I've grown up, I've worked on management techniques for these, and Bree has not. My whole family knew that Bree's wedding was going to be contentious. We had talked about how to keep her calm and how we needed to accept that she would likely be on edge.

    Font - However, what happened was next level. Prior to the wedding, we only had one issue that sticks out. Our older sister was MOH and reached out to ask me to help plan the bridal shower. I agreed to help and texted Bree to asked what area or venue type would be best. Bree sent me a flurry of messages, telling me that she didn't need to plan her own bridal shower, and she'd rather just not have one. I decided to let it go and one of Bree's friends planned it instead.

    Font - After the wedding, we were taking pictures with the photographers and it was like a switch flipped. Bree was posing with her husband, the photographer stopped to adjust her veil, and Bree turned to me and started screaming at me. She said it was my job as a bridesmaid to make sure she looked good.

    Font - Idk why she picked on me. I was one of eight bridesmaids and I had never been to a wedding before, let alone been in one. I started helping with adjustments to her dress during the photoshoot. I had no idea what I was doing. I would just walk over and move things a bit at random. It made her stop yelling, but she still made snide comments.

    Font - When we finally got to the reception, I got a bottle of wine and hid. It was at a golf course, so I walked out into the dark a bit and chilled out by myself. My boyfriend of 4 years had broken up with me the night before, so I really was just trying to get through the day and barely holding on.

Her attack on you was vicious. I don't see how you could possibly be "understanding" about her singling you out and screaming at you between smiling for photos.

    Font - ImagineReality125 - 9 hr. ago NTA There is no excuse for such behavior, not even stress. If she at least gave you a heartfelt apology, then you both could move on from that point. And you had a really really really legitimate excuse for not attending the whole reception. I'm amazed you kept it together as well as you did.
