When Cats Talk Back: The Funniest Conversations Humans Have Had With Their Kitties

For this week's challenge, we decided to capture the reality of living with a cat. Everyone who owns a cat knows that the relationship between cats and humans can be a bit… funny. Sometimes, you can see just how much cats and their humans love each other. Other times, cats act like complete jerks toward us, and we sigh with exasperation and wonder if there's a point to trying to discipline them again when they obviously don't care enough to learn. Sometimes, we even work together with them - like when we humans use our cats as shields against bugs. Yay, teamwork. 

But the only thing that matters at the end of the day, no matter how much we may struggle, is that cats are part of the family. So, we treat them as such. In fact, we are so familiar with our cats that sometimes we talk to them, and some of those times, they even reply, and those conversations… are hilarious. Which is why we asked you guys to tell us about the funniest ones you've had.

    Font - Crystal Gilroy I used to have a cat named Baxter who was the He was infamous for mouthiest feline I've ever known "talking back" if you told him to do something he didn't want to do.     They really do love arguing with us sometimes. It's amazing. They have no shame, no regrets, no second thoughts. They do what they want to do when they want to do it, even if they know that they're not allowed to. And on top of that, they act as if we're the ones inconveniencing them when we ask them to stop. Smh, hooligans.

    Cat - Top fan Lisa Cherrie Jasmine wanted to do something not allowed. When I told her no, she meowed back an extended explanation about why she wanted to. I replied, "i know, but it's not safe and it's not ok.' We went back and forth a couple times until I realized I was having an argument with my CAT. She's 16 now, found her when she was 5 weeks old.     Okay, but for real, we really do feel like we understand them sometimes. Not literally - obviously. But we're so close with our cats, we know them so well, that sometimes, when they reply to us, we understand. We know their tone, we know their stance, we know exactly what they want, so no wonder this person didn't catch themselves talking to their cat like that. Just seems like a sign of a lovely friendship between them to us.
