One of the most difficult things for us, as people who love cats with their whole souls, is seeing them injured. We know it can happen sometimes. Cats are curious, they're bound to get themselves into trouble. But we dread it. We really do. We know that if something like that were to happen to our cats, we would take care of them no matter what, but we also know that some people don't - some people give up on their injured pets.
That's why we try to showcase as many stories as possible of people not giving up on their injured pets and helping them through. Whether it's a story as simple as an abused cat getting adopted and getting surgery to fix its broken leg, a story as inspiring as a woman taking in an abandoned cat with a locked jaw and raising 6000$ for surgery, or whether it's as story as uncommon and insane as a cat getting shot, having to go through surgery, and thankfully, surviving. They may not be the easiest stories to read, but they are important. And today, we have another one of those important stories for you guys.
"This is Sonny. we are fostering her. she has a crab eye. the doctors are going to remove it monday. she has gained 2oz or 56g since we start fostering. she is a little baker with all the bread kneeding she does."
"UPDATE on the majestic one eyed foster kitten, Sonny.
she is doing better. Oregon's Human society (OHS) gave her some pain meds and antibiotics that have been causing diarrhea. She was 1.9 lbs before last week but has dropped weight to 1.56 lbs. She is more energetic since the oral pain meds and they gave us a medication that will stimulate appetite. We apply it to her ear but we must wear gloves and we can't touch her for two hours after. So we plan on giving it to her tonight before bed so we don't have to worry about touching.
If you are in the portland, oregon area OHS is in need of volunteers. find out more by visiting https://www.oregonhumane.org/get-involved/volunteer/"
