'Have yet to receive my first check': Workplace refuses to pay worker because their address was incorrect

Every workplace has stupid rules, it's just something that workplaces too. Maybe it's ensuring a box is flattened only in the sanctity of the “box-flattening area,” or some other bizarre protocol or procedure that needs to be followed despite the fact that it takes an inordinate amount of time and resources. Usually, there's a story for why these processes exist —maybe ol' Bill hurt himself flattening a box in a bad area— but usually, these stories and purposes have long since been forgotten. Regardless, as an insignificant worker ant, it's your duty to shut your mouth and do as you're told.

An example of where this isn't ok is when it comes to paying workers. Not paying your workers for months just because an address was incorrect on some form, and the person responsible is on a month-long vacation, is not ok. At the very least, you might expect that they would notify the worker of the issue beforehand.

In what world do you just stop paying workers just because the person doing payroll wants a vacation? Why does said person have the worker's paycheck with them on said vacation? There are so many red flags here it's hard to keep track.
