Happy Sunday, ICanHasers! We're wishing everyone a relaxing end of the weekend and a swift transition back into the work week. In true Sunday nature, we're back with our weekly Feline Appreciation segment where we showcase a particular breed or color because we believe every single cat out there deserves a moment in the spotlight. Last week we celebrated the Turkish Van, and the week before that the Burmese bread loaves. Welp, this week the highlight is on snow white cats!
Did you know that white cats are actually really rare? They make up a rough estimate of 5% of the entire cat population. Due to their lack of melanin, white cats are at a higher risk for sunburn and in general, are much more sensitive when it comes to the sun. As you'll see from the photos below, white cats are not limited to a certain breed. Persian cats can be white, British shorthairs, Maine Coons, and more! Pretty fascinating, if you ask us.
