Hi, friends! How is everyone doing? We hope you guys are feeling great and doing great! Though if you're not, which is okay too, rest assured that we have something special up our sleeves that ought to make you feel better. We recently stumbled upon a Twitter thread where people posted photos along with short stories of their adopted senior cats. They're so heartwarming and inspirational, that we obviously couldn't wait to share them with you guys.
You guys know that we're huge advocates for adoption. We're always here to celebrate amazing, compassionate, and selfless people that help little kitties in need. But when we see people adopting senior cats, that's a whole other level of respect. Unfortunately, a lot of the time, older cats get overlooked in animal shelters because people are afraid that they'll lose them too soon. But the way we see it, it's not about you, it's about giving the cat the most comfortable and loving end of its life possible because the beginning clearly wasn't.
"My senior rescue came home December 7th. Vet thought that she could be about 8. She was getting overlooked at the shelter became of her age, and that she looked pretty scruffy"
There's nothing more heartwarming than an underdog (or should we say undercat) finally getting adopted!
"We also adopted an 18yr old cat from a shelter. Nobody wanted him because of his age and the fact he needed constant medication. A big ginger feisty old man who became a big softie."
Bless your soul, Jill! Thank you for adopting him ??
