Getting cast as a lead role in a TV show or a movie can be a life long goal for many people, but there's a reason they call Los Angeles “The City of Broken Dreams”. However, the industry is so giant, that if you can fore-go your dreams of being the lead role, you vastly increase your chances of appearing on the big screen.
For one Kentucky man, he dreamed of seeing himself on screen. It did not matter if he had any dialogue, it did not mean much to him that he even have a speaking role. For Josh Nalley, a man who has gone viral for his conviction, his gateway to Hollywood was just to be really really really good at looking deceased.

Josh Nalley started on TikTok with a startlingly simple, and stupid, video that he posted on October 24, 2021. In the video, he's simply laying in a shallow creek, face down, as his loyal labradors circle him, baffled. Quite frankly, out of context, this video is extremely confusing and poses many questions. What is this guy doing? Is he okay? Is he even alive? However, a few days later, whether it was as a joke or a dare or if Josh genuinely realized his skill to act like a body devoid of life, Josh posted the second of nearly 321 consecutive videos of him playing opossum on screen until he was cast in a TV show or a movie as an extra.
The first of many
Whether it was pure stubbornness or simply an act of social experimentalism, Josh persisted and posted a video a day in new locations, which allowed him to create an impressive portfolio of un-alive moments that would eventually blossom a career. On day 321, and after thousands of followers and hundreds of thousands of views, Josh was contacted by CSI: Las Vegas.

In true Internet fashion, somehow, somebody heard about Josh's determination and skill as a body extra and he was pursued by one of the longest standing TV shows in America with a proposition he couldn't refuse. He did it!!!

In the span of a year, Josh went from a nobody with literally zero presence on social media and living in rural Kentucky, to getting his hair and makeup done by LA's finest professionals. Josh will be debuting on November 3rd's episode of CSI: Vegas as a corpse on an autopsy table and we couldn't be more proud of him. You go Josh!

The wait is killing me
