Font - Posted by u/aitathrowawayzz 3 days ago AITA for asking a bakery if the pastries they were selling me were made that day? Asshole I went to a bakery when they opened (7 AM) asking about pastries; she told me that* the ones I wanted were not ready yet. A little background: this bakery always has items in their display case, even at opening/closing, but makes fresh ones as needed. So there's always stuff in the display case and it's pretty much impossible to tell when they were made. Two hou

Font - She was extremely offended and went on a huge rant, going off on me which included these points: "you came here earlier and asked, there was nothing there, now you're asking if these are made today? If I had these I would've sold them to you last time. Don't keep asking if these are fresh." It was a much longer rant, but that was the gist of it. Well, I told her that there were items in the display case when I went earlier (ie. not "nothing there" like she claimed, as the shelves always h

Font - From my pov, it's an innocent question to ensure the pastries I was buying were not day-olds because, again, this has happened to me (and many others) at this bakery before. But I also might be an asshole that questions a small business' practices and its offerings, and disrespected the owner with an offensive question. AITA? *edited to include that these were her words for clarity

Font - RatioNo1114 1 day ago S Pooperintendant [68] Unfortunately since you knew the items you wanted were not ready yet, asking when they magically appeared a while later if they were made today makes YTA, I mean duh. Why do you keep going to this bakery if you're apparently being sold stale baked goods? Reply Share 7.4k SamSpayedPI · 21 hr. ago Professor Emeritass [91] YTA, I mean duh. Exactly this. It wouldn't have rated an "asshole" had OP walked in for the first time and asked if they were

She isn't wrong though? You've wasted her time and yours with this. I'd find another bakery if you're always goi

Font - bobledrew 23 hr. ago edited 3 hr. ago Professor Emeritass [92] YTA. So you went to a bakery that you say has bad reviews and has sold you stale product in the past. Um, why in the name of Dog would you go there? Then you say the pastries you wanted weren't ready. Then you go back and the pastries you wanted WERE ready, but now you wonder if they were somehow invisible to you in the display case. Free advice: Go to a different bakery. Because after this nonsense, they're gonna be (EDIT: fa

Font - evelbug 1 day ago Colo-rectal Surgeon [45] YTA - There weren't pastries a few hours ago and now there were. The baker isn't sitting twirling his mustache waiting for you Coe back just to put out the stale baked goods so he can say 'gotcha'. If the bakery doesn't regularly keep fresh product, find a better bakery. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. 527 Reply Share

Font - icruiselife 1 day ago Partassipant [2] YTA, not for asking once, but you kept badgering the staff about the freshness of the pastries. If you doubt the quality of the goods, don't shop there. Why continue to go there and harass the employees? 352 Reply Share

Font - triter2002 1 day ago YTA. By not thinking the new pastries were fresh, you are clearly operating on a bias that this bakery hardly makes fresh items. That bias is picked up and labeled as rude. 191 Reply Share

Font - Major_Zucchini5315 21 hr. ago Asshole Enthusiast [5] YTA. You keep changing your story to say that there were the same pastries in the case when you first went in, but your original post says different. "I went to a bakery when they opened (7 AM) asking about pastries; the ones I wanted were not ready yet." You even say that you were 'asking' about pastries, so you absolutely knew the ones you wanted weren't ready. The owner was right in her frustration with you because it was a ridiculou
