This garbage CEO should really think before he speaks. At a company meeting, he and the HR executive gave a speech about employees needing to "help reduce costs" by seeking primary care physicians over emergency care. That's when they used the following example: "going to the ER when you are just simply dehydrated…is NOT appropriate use of emergency care." What they clearly didn't know is that the employee who did that had a serious case of dehydration as a result of her pregnancy.
She shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit, and her account of the story just goes to show that leadership should never generalize what is clearly an individual experience for the sake of a general argument. Not only were they shaming the Redditor for seeking emergency treatment, but also they had no idea about the details of the actual incident.
