Most people, when going to adopt a cat, don't think about adopting a senior cat. Of course, we understand the reasons for it, but our heart still hurts for them, and we wish that more people would take in senior cats. It's true that there are things you need to know when taking care of a senior cat, and it's true that it may not be the easiest undertaking, but senior cats are amazing pets, we promise.
Still, being that people don't take them in as often as we would like, we, on ICanHasCheezburger, take the time to celebrate it when senior cats do get adopted. Because it's important to us to see them find their forever homes - a place to spend the last years of their lives, however many that might be, happy and contented. And because we're thankful to the people who do go out of their way to adopt a senior cat. Thank you and enjoy the wholesomeness.
It's hard to imagine that some people, in this situation, actually put away the senior cat and take the kittens, but we know that happens more often than not. That's why we're all the more thankful to everyone in this thread for adopting senior kitties - and for sharing their stories with us.
It's true that the time you spend with them might not be the longest, but every single second that you do is precious and purrfect and important. Whether it's one year or ten, you have made their time in this world much, much better, and that's amazing.
