Ahhh yes, the lovely Bengal cats. With their tiger-like patterned coat and their chatty meows—they are some of the most beloved cats of all time. Every so often we like to shine the spotlight on a specific breed of cat, that we think deserves a little extra attention. Today that cat is most certainly the Bengal breed. The Bengal cat is a domesticated cat breed created from a hybrid of the Asian leopard cat, with domestic cats, especially the spotted Egyptian Mau. The breed name comes from the leopard cat's taxonomic name.
We love our babies, especially the Bengal babies with beautiful leopard spotting and patterns in their fur. Bengal cats are said to be one of the most intelligent cat breeds around, their hind legs tend to be longer than their front legs which gives them a regal, powerful, yet graceful stride. What Bengal cats are most known for though, is their striking facial markings. Their facial markings are very similar to their Asian Leopard ancestors. No doubt about it, Bengal cats are stunning. And we can help but admire these adorable cats, having a Bengal cat is really like having your own smaller house leopard.
