When you make the decision to get married (or make some other long-term commitment of trust and reciprocity to another person), you should probably consider that person's needs, thoughts, and advice. This goes double, if not triple, when you make the decision to (or otherwise) have children. These people come first and foremost in your life, before any fun you might want to have with your friends and, certainly, before a ski trip.
Imagine the cruel audacity to straight up ditch your wife and sick child at home — without letting them know where you're going — so that you can enjoy a last-minute ski trip with the boys. Then, when everyone in your life (except the boys) is telling you what an a**hole you are, you have the audacity to post about it online as if you've done nothing wrong.
If this is your life, you need an incredibly harsh reality check that not even the internet can deliver.
