'I'm literally crying right now': Woman viral for showing the cute side of spiders shares inspirational story of how love saved her depressed pet spider

About 3% to 15% of the population has arachnophobia, which is the fear of spiders. You see a spider, you scream, and you try to end it as fast as possible. Sure, you've always heard people saying “they're more afraid of you than we are of them” but that never made sense to you because you're terrified of spiders. But spiders really are just trying to go about their lives minding their own business—they usually want nothing to do with you. Unless, of course, you show them love and provide them with food and shelter—kind of like they're your pet.

Well, Tiana the “bug lady” actually has pet spiders. One she recently posted about named Jade, a jumping spider, is viral for how adorable she is. She's just like a fuzzy little leggy baby trying to cuddle. Unfortunately, she had a tragedy strike when she lost one of her baby spiders. Tiana noticed that Jade became very depressed afterwards and she was refusing to eat. So she decided to try and comfort her arachnid friend.

What happened was miraculous. She took her sweet spider friend out from the habitat she created for her to live in and she just hung out with her. She put her in her hoodie and had her chill with her. She even snuck her a smooch, which Jade seemed someone happy about. You would never think hanging out with a spider would be so friggin' adorable, but Jade and Tiana have a beautiful bond that is so heartwarming it makes you want your very own pet spider.

The most amazing thing happened after they spent the day together—Jade started to seem better. Tiana says that she instantly had more energy and the best part is that the very next morning, Jade was eating again. “I don't know if it's because she felt loved and she felt a little bit of joy,” Tiana says in her video. “But I'm literally crying right now.”

It just goes to show that even spiders grieve and love and need reassurance that they are wanted in this world. Maybe we're all just anthropomorphizing the heck out of this lil ole spider, but Jade seemed happier and ready to take on life after just a day of feeling loved and don't we all need that sometimes? Maybe think twice next time about smooshing that “scary” spider you see in the corner of your room. Maybe they're going through something.
