If there's anything we're thankful for it's for people who adopt senior cats. Don't get us wrong, adoption is great no matter who you choose. But let's be honest, the brand-new kitten with 0 trauma will probably have a much higher chance to get adopted than an elderly cat that's been rehomed multiple times. It's no secret that when you adopt from shelters, it's very likely that the pet will come with some sort of baggage. But as cat people, it's our ultimate duty to help all those felines in need. It's our job to be patient and persistent when making connections with our feline residents.
And guess what? We recently stumbled upon the purrfect Twitter thread to serve as an example of what the perfect cat person should do when adopting a senior cat. We warn you, this may just be the most wholesome, heartwarming, and uplifting thread you'll ever come across. We hope you enjoy!
"Tommy has been even more friendly today and therefore people who wanted to meet him were actually able to visit with him. He even bumped Peggy on her cheek. Wow! I am so proud of him! He didn't even wake me last night! I am so energized with joy that I haven't needed a nap!"
:') Tommy was even more friendly because he could sense you're the best hooman ever!
"It has been a long time since I have had a cat climb into my lap but Tommy just did that and purred, too. I am ecstatic!"
These two were meant for one another
