If you haven't experienced the pure relaxation and bliss of a nice warm bath after a long hard day, then you are truly missing out. It is no mystery that taking a bath is epically relaxing. It's not just humans who think that! Yes, most dogs look like they are straight up not having a good time when they are getting a bath. They usually look terrified and/or uncomfortable and look up at you like, "father/mother why have you forsaken me??" But sometimes a dog really badly needs a bath and they are just going to have to deal with it. How do you get even the most resisting dog into the tub? It takes a lot of patients and positive reinforcement. Ask any person who has worked with rescued dogs!
The thing with rescued dogs is that you usually have no idea what kind of reaction they will have to getting in the tub. Will the whimper and whine? Will they try to bite you and escape? Will you absolutely traumatize them? Or will they know you're just trying to help them and they might actually enjoy it? You truly never know until you try. So you take your time and give them lots of love.
Ever dog deserves love and care, but especially rescue dogs because you don't know what kind of horrors they might have experienced before they got to you. So when these rescuers give these pups their first warm baths, it's soothing as it is heartbreaking. Some pups love it, some hate it, but you can see in all of them that once it is over they are so grateful they could just zoom around the world!
