    #1: This woman's revenge on her sister-in-law!

Font - r/pettyrevenge. Posted by u/No_Common7843 5 days ago 2 S SIL insulted my kids so I exposed her lies SIL is the kind of mom that always has to one up other kids. She constantly talks about how her kids are smarter, taller, faster etc than her friends' kids. She literally bragged about them peeing more than her friends' kids when they were babies lol.
  • 02
Font - It was worse when my husband and I had our twins. Suddenly everything was a competition (that her kids always won). One of my girls rolled over at 4 months, her son had rolled over when he was just a week old. The twins both took their first steps around 13 months, her daughter was RUNNING at 4 months. (She didn't actually start walking until around 16 months). She even changed the weight of her kids' birth weights which makes them both heavier than the current heaviest newborn in America
  • 03
Font - I got annoyed when she went from lying about her own kids to telling me there is something wrong with mine. The girls are a few months shy of 2 and they're both healthy, on track and hitting their milestones. SIL has become OBSESSED with the idea that there is something wrong with them because they're not speaking in long sentences. Of course they're not, they're not even two! They're both developmentally on track but she insists that her children were speaking in 5-6 word phrases by 18 m

Font - My husband and I ignored her but she took it too far when I got a call from her friend who works in Early Intervention who was under the impression I was very concerned about my children. We talked and her friend confirmed that yes, they are on track and no, there's nothing to worry about. I finally lost my patience. Hey, her kids are breaking almost every record there is and that should be celebrated!
  • 05
Font - We had dinner with my husband's family on Saturday (kids were in another room) and I decided it was the perfect time to give her my gift - a booklet I had printed and laminated called the 'White Claw Book of World Records'. I printed all the supposed milestones of her kids, complete with photos and info of the actual world record holders now that they had been pushed to second place. She flipped through the first couple of pages, went beet red and called me an hole. Her husband took it fr

Font - She stormed out but texted me later that night and asked why I'd humiliated her when all she'd ever tried to do was help me get my kids the help they needed, but if that was how I wanted to treat her then she'd stop. So I guess it's a win for me!

#2: The roommates who stole and were then stuck with their friends' furniture!

Font - My neighbors pranked me and my roommates by stealing our furniture, so we let them keep the furniture. My next door neighbors thought it would have been funny to steal all of our furniture out of our house. This was in college and we were friends with them so it was all in good fun.
  • 08
Font - There was no one home at the time so they thought that they were so clever. I caught them when they took the last couch and my bean bag chair. I demanded my bean bag back which I tackled someone for but I wanted to go home and decompress from work; I didn't want to get all our furniture back in the house, and it was also night time.
  • 09
Font - The next day, my roommates and I were trying to figure out how to get back at them. We were impressed by how much effort they put in to grab the 4 couches, 3 coffee tables, dinner table and chairs, etc. we then realized their house was small and it must have taken up all the open space. So we decided to not do anything about it.
  • 10
Font - We go over there after 2 days and they complain that they have to climb over the couches and tables to literally go anywhere in the house. There was no more walkable space in the house, lol. They thought we couldn't wait them out but they ended up yielding in the end.

#3: This employee got some perfectly petty revenge of their former boss!

Font - Ex boss accused me of reporting his illegally downloaded software, so I did it anyway I'd left the job on what I thought was good terms after 6 months. The work wasn't as challenging as I'd hoped and the company was very small. As a younger person I wanted to be somewhere bigger. A few months later out of the blue I get a call from a private number. It was my old boss. He didn't bother to make small talk and went straight to asking if I'd reported his use of downloaded software (I didn't
  • 12
Font - It's illegal to make money off software you're not paying for. He was really paranoid and said the software company was onto him (without elaborating). When I told him I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about and that I was quite annoyed by his call, he raised his voice and became threatening. Clearly he had been holding a grudge.
  • 13
Font - I was so pissed off I reported him straight after the phonecall ended. Edit: it was unlicensed AutoCAD (which is a really risky thing to use without paying). He'd probably had a notification rather than a report and the paranoia set in. I sadly never heard back from the case!

#4: This snoop was caught red-handed!

Font - Snooping in moms medicine cabinet!! My mother & stepfather would often hang out with his best friend, his girlfriend (Jade) and 2 other couples. Whenever they came to our house mom would notice things moved & missing from her medicine cabinet. Fed up she brought it up and the dinner table.
  • 15
Font - Believing it was Jade but not wanting to accuse, she asked was anyone in need of a Tylenol or something similar because someone keeps going in the medicine cabinet. Everyone looked confused and Jade said maybe it's your daughter (me). She said maybe then dropped. Next get together my mother drilled a hole in the top of the cabinet & filled it with marbles. 10 minutes into dinner Jade excused herself to use the bathroom. The we all hear the crash of many many marbles crashing into the sink
  • 16
Font - crashing into the sink. Jade assumed no one heard and tried putting them back. Came out of the bathroom like nothing happened. My mother said before u leave, u owe me about $250 for all the makeup & skincare products u lifted. She acted appalled. Her boyfriend said shut up we heard u & we're leaving now. Mom got her money & Jade became single again. Miss my mother & her brilliant but petty mind! O

#5: Some much-needed revenge on this roommate's crazy boyfriend!

Font - Horrible roommate with insane boyfriend who won't leave? Byeeeeeee! Managed to find an awesome house to rent after college with two other friends. One was my good buddy from undergrad, let's call him Ben. The other was someone who I'd gotten to know through another close friend, and let's call her Crystal. Everything is all fine, and actually great for quite some time. Lived our own lives, but had a great time hanging out together too. The perfect roommate situation.
  • 18
Font - That is, until Crystal started dating Pablo. Pablo was the ultimate deadbeat with a Napoleon complex. Just a little over a month into our lease, Pablo got evicted from his placed, and Crystal asked if he could stay for a short period while he looked for a new place. Being understanding and empathetic, and trusting Crystal (we had no reason not to), we said sure as long as it's temporary. Big mistake.
  • 19
Font - Pablo lost his job. Pablo had been dishonorably discharged from the military. Pablo was a(n) (unsuccessful) gambler. Pablo was (it was New Orleans, so it's a not like any of us had a leg to stand on here), but he was a He would dangerous verbally Crystal, waking up the whole household in the middle of the night with fights. He her pet fish by running it under scalding hot water. He would hurl racial slurs at my then-boyfriend. He broke Ben's Wii. On numerous occasions, he left the front d

Font - Ben and I decided to have a house meeting to discuss our concerns with her, and, knowing that sometimes emotions can flair, we came with a written agenda so as to just stick to the facts. Yet Crystal defended him, and offered no solution to when he would be leaving and finding his own place (spoiler: he never would).
  • 21
Font - [Really rubbing salt in the wound, Pablo had gambled much of their money and Crystal was having trouble making rent one month. She asked if she could borrow it and pay me back next paycheck. Again, being a trusting empath, and feeling like we had no other choice, I did. I was furious to find out that the two of them had left for a long weekend at a casino resort in Mississippi before having paid me back.] Well, now for the petty revenge:
  • 22
Font - I had been working two full-time jobs. I saved like crazy, and it was 2008 and housing prices had dipped. I decided to buy my own home. Ben knew all about this (so did my landlady), and was planning to be my roommate in the new house, but I never mentioned a single word to Crystal. I found a great place, made an offer, and closed a little thereafter.
  • 23
Font - It just so happened that the day I closed on the house, when we were already planning to move and just get the hell out of dodge, Crystal and Pablo took one of their famous casino getaways. We got around 15-20 of our close friends, one of whom had an enormous truck and a giant flatbed (of course someone did, it was Louisiana). Many hands make light work, and within a few short hours the entire house other than their room was cleared out. (Ohhhh, did I mention?: All the furniture, all the

Font - Crystal and Pablo returned home at the end of a full day of gambling, only to find a completely empty house except for their room. We told them we had switched the utilities (that were under my name) to the new house, and we had informed the landlady, and paid out our share of the remainder of the lease. The looks on their faces was priceless. We left and never saw them again, halleloo.
  • 25
Font - TL;DR - Roommate's psycho boyfriend moved in, never left, went bananas. Other roommate and I got a huge group of friends to help move all our stuff to a new house without telling them, in just a few hours time while they were away. They returned to a completely empty house except for their stuff. Priceless looks on their faces as we left for the last time.

#6: This person discovered her roommate made a TikTok bashing her and her partner!

Font - My roommate is so mean to me so I'm moving out and taking my stuff with me For some context, my roommate is kind to me 75% of the time, but the leftover 25% of the time, they're so mean it's not even funny. They snap at me for things outside of my control. They yelled at me for chewing too loudly (I was eating chips in the middle of the day), they take naps all the time and told me I could feel free to make noise, but yelled at me for taking a phone call and whispering, they cussed me out
  • 27
Font - Now I decided to move out and I told them that. I got my new room assignment and I'm moving out this weekend. As I'm planning my move, I'm realizing that almost ALL of the shared stuff in our room is MINE. The fridge is MINE, the trash can is MINE, the vacuum is MINE, the pots/pans/cooking stuff is MINE, the cleaning supplies are MINE. My roommate and I both had fridges and we decided I'd bring mine and they would leave their's at home so now they're stuck without a fridge. (Serves them r

#7: This photographer turns an insult into literal art!

Font - From insult to accidental movement I (37 F) am a photographer who specializes in creative portraiture and have been fortunate to be pretty successful in my career. In early 2021 I worked with a local burlesque performer (who I fill refer to as Jane) and we hit it off really well. We had several mutual friends and acquaintances and by the end of the shoot wondered how we had gone this long without working with one another. The photos turned out beautiful and once they had been edited I had
  • 29
Font - The photos went over really well, until someone new to the group (who I will call Natalie) decided to start making negative comments about my model Jane. In short, she began to shame Jane and went on for a good bit about some nonsense involving a boy they both knew. Overall, it was just really inappropriate and unnecessary commentary that really shouldn't have been part of a group centered around modeling, photography, hair and makeup. I made a point of replying to this person and telling
  • 30
Font - I did not know this at the time, but the only reason Natalie had been added to the group, is because she had runway experience and the group was hosting a workshop for members that were interested. After this incident, Natalie was fired from the workshop. I didn't really think much of the whole situation after that until my bestie messaged me, asking how I knew Natalie. I told her I didn't and gave her a rundown of the previous situation. Apparently Natalie had taken the time to dedicate

Font - In an effort to kinda poke fun at the situation and make a point that this particular word doesn't bother me in the least, I decided to do some self portraits where I painted the big ole "C" word all over my face neck and chest. I made funny faces, flipped off the camera, stuck my tongue out etc. After all was said and done, I made the photo my profile picture on social media. It blew up. People really gravitated to the idea of it. So, I decided to turn it into a special. For the month of
  • 32
Font - Well, it blew up and I suddenly found myself overbooked for April and many more messaging me wanting to participate. So, I decided to extend the special and just see what happens. Everyone had their own story behind these words and honestly, with some, it took everything in me not to break down bawling right then and there. It's amazing how much power one singular word can hold over us. Some people have been carrying this weight for decades and it turned out to be an incredibly cathartic

Font - Sometime in May, a local news publication reached out and asked if I'd be willing to talk about the series. I agreed and answered some questions, told a relatively condensed version of what sparked the series etc. This was followed by two other publications reaching out, interested in the story. I decided at that time to talk with a local gallery that I have a close relationship with, about setting up a solo exhibit later in the year and they were really excited about it. We decided to se

Font - For opening night, I was able to gather some of the best local performers so we could do a show in conjunction with the gallery event. It was an incredible, diverse cast of burlesque, sideshow and drag performers, including Jane, who had also participated in the photo series. We actually bonded over the whole situation and are now very close friends. The show drew in a crowd of more than 200 people, before the gallery had to cut off ticket sales and we were at capacity for Covid social di

Font - For the exhibit itself, as people walk through the gallery, they see the negative words and the stories behind them. The name of the series is called Sticks and Stones and in the center of the main room I had smooth river stones where people could write their own negative word on one side of the stone and carry it with them through the rest of the exhibit. I was a bit busy with helping backstage, so I wasn't able to really see any reactions first hand, but I was told by a few people that

Font - Now, what the gallery attendees were not aware of was that there was a second part to the series. In fact, even the participants weren't aware until they arrived at my studio for their shoot. I also made a point of making sure it was kept hush hush for the time being. After doing photos with their negative word, they would choose a positive word that they would like to replace it with. We would pick a spot on their face, neck, or chest to wipe away part of the negative word and paint on t

Font - In the final room the walls were covered with the positive word photos. Smiling faces of the participants taking power back over these words that had held so much power over them for so long. There was also another table with red sharpies, where attendees could write their own positive word on the other side of the rock and they could choose to take the stone with them, or leave it in a basket on the table. I still have the stones people left with their own words on it and keep it in a sp

Font - From April to Sept of 2021, roughly 80 people participated in the photo series and it is the highlight of my career as a photographer thus far. My clientele base has expanded and I have a great reputation as a photographer in my city. All because someone tried to slut shame my model turned friend and called me the "C" word while vowing to ruin my career and reputation as a photographer. I have never been busier and to my knowledge, "Natalie" hasn't been able to find any modeling work sinc

#8: And let's finish this list off with one final dreadful roommate story!

Font - My foul smelling roommate threw a coupon book at me so I moved out and froze the room. I've seen a number of bad roommate situations on this sub today so I figured I'd add my story. I had a roommate that was loud all hours of the night. He'd slam caffeine like his life depended on it and would scream at his video games until the sun rose. The stench of his unwashed body and unlaundered clothes stunk up the whole unit and hallway beyond it. You'd have thought something crawled into the cei

Font - this Despite all my attempts to communicate my displeasure I knew there was no salvaging storm of a living situation. At one point he threw a coupon book at my head while I was sleeping. He claimed I was snoring and he didn't want to walk across the room to wake me up. I talked to the RA (this was a college dorm) and was able to move to a different dorm across the campus. Without telling my roommate, I moved out one evening while he was away at classes. I didn't tell him I was moving out.
