Unrelated — but it's freezing outside. Sorry, had to get it out there, I like to complain. How is it already February? Time is flying faster than a cheetah chasing after prey. I may or may not be sorely lacking in serotonin, but hey, that's what therapy is for, right? Nowadays it's a huge green flag when people admit they're going to therapy. It shows you're mature enough to recognize you have a problem (Don't we all?) and are actually willing to do something about it. Plus it shows you've got the cha-ching.
Lol, kidding. But for real, therapy is bloody expensive! Why does nobody mention THAT in their all-too-relatable tweets? Mental health awareness has skyrocketed in the past decade, along with the actual mental health problems, and as much as I'd like to blame the fast-paced environment we live in paired with technology (largely social media), I realize it is much more than that.
If only we wouldn't be so obsessed with getting our daily avocado toast, maybe we could afford therapy (or buy a house). Nah baby boomer, it's a minimal 100 bucks a session, and I bet 1 session a month is not in fact, 'better than nothing'. So in the meantime, I'm a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine. Therefore I have compiled a funny batch of this week's mental health tweets regarding the perks and irks of therapy. Scroll down to check 'em out. You can also click here for last week's memes.
