Food - "I say 'Oh, I'm sorry, do you happen to have your receipt?' Apparently that was a personal attack"

Human body - This happened to a friend who works at a panda express and gave me permission to share. I'll be retelling from his POV.

Mammal - So I'm going to run a park order out, easy enough. I drop off Karen's food, and she says she needs some soy sauce. Okay, easy fix, I tell her I'll just go grab it.

Font - I come back with soy sauce in hand, and she's looking through her food and says "So where are my rangoons? They're not in here!". I say "Oh, I'm sorry, do you happen to have your receipt?" (I already threw away my copy because I thought there's really no reason to keep this if the food's out). Apparently that was a personal attack, and so her exact words in response were "I'm going to make you pay, you're going to effing pay for making me get my receipt!" I don't care, she shoves the rece

Font - I go inside, this woman is trailing behind me, I feel threatened so I dash behind the counter while relaying what just happened across the headset, because everyone's noticed. I quickly get the rangoons and hand them to her, she says "I want a manager, I demand compensation!" so I page over the headset that she wants a manager. Oakley (not his real name, he's a shift lead for context), bless his soul, walks over.

Font - This lady unloads on him "Why did he (she misgendered me, but I won't give her the satisfaction) ask for my receipt! It's his fault that you can't- you always mess up my effing order!" She can't even keep her train of thought going. Oakley explains that it's company policy, we have to ask for the receipt to verify the purchase"

Font - She doesn't even know what to say and keeps trying to argue, so I tried to move onto the next person in line but she's blocking my register. This poor guy who just ordered can barely reach to tap his card, and I genuinely have to wait for her to be finished before I can get him his food.

Font - I caught the tail end of her argument with Oakley when she says "Where's your gm because you're clearly not a manager! I want their number and your name". Oakley says "I'm sorry, I can't give out his number". Karen doesn't like that and keeps demanding his number, eventually she says "I want your name", so Oakley points to his name badge.

Font - She's still going off and eventually Oakley says "Ma'am, if you want to speak to our manager you can come back tomorrow" She just looks at him, flabbergasted, and says "Why would I come back tomorrow?! I want his number!" Oakley explains again that he can't give out the GM's number and Karen eventually just storms out. As she's doing this Oakley says, in his regular tone of voice, "Have a great night!"

Font - She yells back, "don't you dare give me an attitude!" Oakley looks at me and I just do the wtf face.

Font - gailichisan 12 hr. ago Wow. All of that for nothing. I swear, I don't envy you having to deal with stupid stuff like this. You handled it perfectly.

Font - IndyAnnaDoge. 5 hr. ago I don't even understand the issue. She wanted her rangoons, she got her rangoons. What does she want to be compensated for? I swear some people just hate themselves so much they have to make every one miserable and they search for any minute reason to do so.

Font - Fine_Cheek_4106.5 hr. ago If a person like her is that belligerent and toxic as a whole in their lives, then (she) is probably divorced, been cut off by her kids, and the neighbours don't talk to her. So people like her have to use others as their targets for their vitriol bile-spew, as they're no longer Queen B where they want to be.

Font - IndyAnnaDoge. 6 hr. ago Right. And she knows that people in customer service (usually) have no choice but to deal with her. So she has them cornered, when everyone with a choice stays far away.
