'I don't like when she's sitting in the same room as me': Guy asks 'AITA?' for making his GF get out of the house while he works

This dude lives with his GF, but in his own words he doesn't like spending time with her — especially when he's trying to work. Writer u/throwaway89348593479 asked the r/AmItheA****** forum if they think he's in the wrong for his work style.

As the poster explained, he and his girlfriend live together in the USA, although the Canadian OP is set to return to his home country soon, causing him stress. He also works multiple jobs, basically working around the clock. At first, he claims he asked his GF to stay in the bedroom for 6 or 7 hours every day, but she "began to complain that she was stuck in the bedroom" after some time. Now, the OP suggested that she stay in the house at night, while he stays there during the day. The GF is not happy with how controlling the OP is being.

I've been in almost this exact situation, and I've been the one who talks too much and is distracting! I tend to think that the person working should get the say of their work environment, but in this case, the OP is being pretty demanding. He needs to get some good earbuds and just deal with it, unfortunately, as it seems like the GF has been trying in good faith to leave him alone.

The commenters piled on to the OP, calling him a huge jerk for treating his GF this way. If they don't communicate with each other, I can't imagine the relationship lasting long!

I've also been on his side of the scenario as the one doing remote work. OP, let me introduce you to the phrase "I'm working right now so I can't discuss that with you." Say it on repeat every time your GF talks to you during your workday — it's cold and businesslike, but it gets the message across. If it's not too late, maybe he can try that in the hopes that his GF won't leave him for kicking her out of her own space.
