Some elder-millennials would be shocked to know that Hot Topic still exists. That grimey, grungy, punk store where you begged your parents to buy you band T-shirts is still alive and well, but who is shopping there? It turns out, you never really age out of being emo. What everyone thought was just a teenaged phase in 2003 is still very much a part of our lifestyles today. Now instead of wearing band tees from My Chemical Romance, we're wearing black blazers and corporate goth attire that tells everyone how much we hate them. Even though they have snake bite piercing scars on their lower lip, every elder-emo still clings to the ideals that their younger self so stubbornly clung to: the world sucks. Fortunately for them, being emo is coming back into trend, making anyone who depressed and angsty AF the cool kids again. So hop back on your Tumblr, change your Myspace status to "It's complicated", and put some cryptic music on your profile that explains how sad you are.
