Font - Delivery drivers and taco bell haters should read this. I cost taco bell $1000 I was told multiple times to post this here. I originally posted in the ubereats sub and have had 100% positive comments on what I did.

Font - Tl;dr I cost taco bell $1000 in fines because us delivery drivers are "dumb" and "need to learn our place". Ever since the pandemic started, as you all know, a lot of lobbies are often closed and you have to go through the drive-thru. Where I live everything is pretty much open but taco bells always hit and miss. Sometimes a single taco bell will go back and forth between their lobby being open so its a guessing game.

Font - Got a taco bell order, parked so I could go in but the door was locked. No big deal. Got back in my car and went through the drive-thru. She told me I needed to come in, I told her I tried. She said "you need to go in through a different door" I asked if she could just hand it to me through the drive-thru since I had tried to come in already and she just said "no" and wouldn't respond to anything else I said. Side note, there was NOBODY in the drive-thru. It was morning and pretty dead. I

Font - I called a nearby taco bell to ask how to contact the district manager and they got me in touch with him. I told him everything that happened and he told me he was going to call them and call me back. About an hour goes by and he calls me back and tells me that the 2 doors I tried were broken and they were going to get them fixed and us delivery drivers need to stop being upset at every little tiny thing and bothering managers. My irritated mood just went from 5 to 10 really fast. He kept

Font - I was like "sir, just so you know, im disabled and having to get in and out of the car a bunch is a hassel but what if someone REALLY disabled was trying to get in and had to try 3 different doors? Not to mention if there was a fire." Its important to note here that there were 2 different small parties inside eating. SO, after he hung up on me I called OSHA and filed a report and they told me to call the fire department right away because yeah, doors must remain locked at all times.

Font - Fire department and osha have now gotten back to me and I feel justified. They sent me a copy of the locksmith he had to hire to "fix" the door that he said was supposedly broken and a fine to the city". The fire department had gotten to the store before the district manager so the doors in question were still locked and they experienced that for themselves. Everytime I call taco bell corporate it just hangs up when you select the option to talk to someone so I called the more local compa

Product - Zakkana 7 hr. ago. edited 6 hr. ago Fire Marshal is worse than OSHA. They will shut you down immediately until everything is fixed. And no judge will overrule them either. And every fine they issue sticks. 345 Reply Share Continue this thread → dadsabrat OP 13 hr. ago I got a picture osha sent me personally of the bill they had to spend on a locksmith for the supposedly broken doors. So I know they went out there too.

Font - Round_Raccoon95. 4 hr. ago In order of departments NOT to be fed with in any capacity it would go something like Fire marshal: not even a judge will f with a decision made by a ranking fire marshal, they can, will and do very often shut places down on the spot for safety violations that cannot be fixed that second. OSHA : they can and do shut places down but not often and sometimes you can get fines etc waived or avoid them by fixing issues on the spot. IRS : yeah they scary but they are

Font - ColeSloth 13 hr. ago Fire Marshal will skip right on out there for this type of stuff. Reply Share 260 dadsabrat OP. 13 hr. ago Oh he did! He said he needed to go out the second he got off the phone with me and even called me afterwards to tell me about it.

Font - Dericwadleigh. 12 hr. ago Not too mention you pi off the fire marshal and he can and fu ing will shutter your business for whatever safety reason he can find until you satisfactorily fix the issue. This dumbas Taco Bell was lucky the fire marshal didn't just decide to take them at their word that the doors were broke, completely shut down the business until it could be repaired and re-inspected at a later date to judge safety.

Handled beautifully. 10/10 would read this story again and feel just as satisfied as the first time I read it. 89 Reply Share Skyshrim 19 min. ago And of course mods remove it even after thousands of people showed that they enjoyed reading it.

Smile - boromeer3 12 hr. ago Every person getting called out says "Mind your own business!" Dude, I'm here exchanging my service for currency, to bring goods to a customer. If you have some other interpretation of what a 'business' is, let me know.

Font - Ziiner 6 hr. ago One time I did a mobile order and they said they can't give me my food through the drive through, I had to come in. Seemed weird and made absolutely no sense at all to me. Reply Share 3 dadsabrat OP. 3 hr. ago Like, not as the driver right? Because they probably couldn't tell you were the customer and thought you were a driver. And they make us come in most of the time even when drive thrus are empty. And they get RUDE about it. Thats why this story got a lot more justice

Font - 3 Restin_in_Pizza 13 hr. ago How are they annoyed by delivery drivers so bad? You're basically providing a service to both sides of this transaction. 30 Reply Share dadsabrat OP 13 hr. ago They treat us like we are the lowest form of society. Restaraunts are SO RUDE to us. Nicer ones have us come through side doors and stuff so the customers don't see us. And they have in the notes where they want us to come in or if we should use the drive-thru or not. But sometimes if you follow the ins

Font - followed the instructions. They toss food at us, hand us empty cups to fill out (which isn't a big deal to me personally but its in the agreement that THEY do the drinks. We don't have food handling licenses and shouldn't be in contact with any of the food at all. Not to mention customers yelling at us in text because the restaraunt forgot a straw or a bit of their food. We have NOTHING to do with that.

Font - Chlupac I thought customer 4 hr. ago you were a regular until that phone call with the manager, you could have mentioned you're a delivery driver. Anyway, well played! They learned their lesson, I hope. 421 Reply Share dadsabrat OP. 3 hr. ago Oh sorry! I had originally posted this in the ubereats sub where most of us are drivers so it made sense. A few people told me to post it here so I just copy and pasted and didn't think about reading it back through someone else's eyes.
