Font - odr/ChoosingBeggars Posted by u/Wonderful Wanderer777 6 hours ago D A guy tries to underpay an artist for a poster design. Artist rightfully declines the offer. Than the guy goes on a full temper tuntrum, starts harrasing the artist, uses ML as ammunition against the artists, claims the artist "gave the idea to them by declining the low offer". Yeah.

Font - Hi Tom, It's Tom, right? PosterSpy doesn't do competitions anymore for posters. As explained on FB messenger we do portfolio submissions and then an artist is selected and hired. Art contests are unethical and given the cost of living increases, redundancies and other issues affecting people's livelihoods it makes sense to avoid any project where people are asked to work for free. I could help source an artist for you but with a $200 budget you may struggle to find anyone quite frankly. T

Font - Jack, Thanks for the clarity, I totally did not understand until just now. We'll put up $250 for the animal lover out there. If it really works out, we can possibly commission other items for the festival. If we had more money available, we'd make it so. Thoughts? Cheers!

Rectangle - Hi Tom I understand that your budget is already stretching and I'd love to help but I simply can't advertise a design job for $250. It would go against everything I stand for when it comes to hiring artists and paying them fairly. Best of luck finding the right artist.

Font - No worries mate. We'll get there. We're twice as much for budget this year from last year, and we're headed to double that next year. Someone's got to be a gatekeeper, right Jack? And you've properly elected yourself to be that person. Good deal for you. However, that doesn't make for a free-market economy where everyone gets to make up their own minds now does it? There are any number of artists who are now not better off because of your positioning. Ya go from running contests yourself

Carnivore - Clearly, I never said that, Tom is trying to ruin the reputation of my own brand by posting this. Also he originally included my full name. #AniFab23 is San Antonio's Animalis Fabula Film Festival - Where Animal Stories Come To Life! And this is the Concept Poster for 2023. Thanks to Jack at for recommending we use Al to generate our art and save our nonprofit money. Font - I didn't ever recommend using Ai. This is a poor attempt at sabotaging the brand. Anyone who has listend to our podcast knows our thoughts on Ai. Embarassing. Like Reply 22 h thank you. We made an entire series. And in 4 different styles. You were a huge help yesterday, thank you again. We're excited you're going to share this example with the collective. it's a great example of economics for everyone to see in real time. I will always credit you for helping our tiny nonprofit with this r

Font - Follow thank you. We made an entire series. Great idea, you were a huge help yesterday, thank you again. We're excited you're going to share this example with the collective. it's a great example of economics for everyone to see in real time. I will always credit you for helping our tiny nonprofit with this really great cost saving process to use Al to generate art to communicate our mission to the world. We had doubled our budget from last year, and then wham. No cost at all using Al too

Font - I'm thanking you. Nicely, I came to you to try and spend money, dude, with your peeps. You go off the rails, sick your peeps on our page and go into a rage fest all because you made Al the most relevant option when you said go somewhere just not here?. And, I have issues? I really don't. I am super happy how things turned out Jack. And I just can't thank you enough. Go ahead, rage all you want. I'm smiling and I'm super happy.how things turned out. Font - Re: Zombie Apocalypse Created by Mr Jack & W to me will be the headline 5:03 Dear Mr Jack, It has been wild watching the gyrations of the Zombie Apocalypse you created. You have really steered your folks in the wrong direction, haven't you. So, to be clear, I am an evidence gatherer. It serves me in my creative capacity. And I wish to thank you for the great deal of evidence your lot has provided to us as it was used in an attempt to terrorize and harass our nonprofit. How long have you b

Font - 1. I reach out to pay your people some money to make some art. 2. You rebuff tell me in so many ways saying no. Inspiring my deep desire not to have to deal with people like you again, and go straight away to Al to make our art ourselves for free. 3. I thank you for this direct result of our interaction, and you lose your mind. You sir, are just like your country, you have no sense of holding the commonwealth together cause you are making ridiculous assumptions of how to earn a living. Yo

Font - Thank you so much for delivering your masses to Zombiedom by attempting to hold back the universe. I fed you perfectly, and you didn't disappoint. Now you ARE the Zombie Apocalypse. Lastly, I'm an OG Mother-F little toothpick di at this s and I use like you to clean my teeth after a snack. So, tell me Mr. Jack, is it me writing that, or Al? Let's get some real press on this now, don't ya think? This might be a really timely story. Cheers!

Font - lunaj 1999 edited 5 hr. ago . 5 hr. ago. Tom is a childish sociopath who needs to understand business is not personal. Jack should have explained how many days of work it would take to create the poster. Whether Jack meant it or not, he implied that it would cost $250. Jack also needs to threaten a defamation lawsuit as Tom published untrue comments that could ruin Jack's business. € 602 € Reply Share

Font - BlancoDelRio +2. 2 hr. ago That's the part I don't understand. My non digital artist brain doesn't know how long a poster takes. If I am told the rate for a day, it sounds reasonable. Just tell what he should expect the budget to be instead of being coy about it. Maybe by setting the expectations correctly a normal client could have been inspired to up their budget. Now, what Jack didn't expect is that he would be dealing with a manchild. €126 € Reply Share

Font - fortyfourcabbages. 4 hr. ago I got asked to do a poster design for a huge event in my town, and they only want to pay me if I do a better job than their secretary who designed it using an app on her phone. I have 10 years of professional design experience. So I kinda feel this. €379 € Reply Share

Font - Stoutyeoman - 4 hr. ago AI art is really going to screw up the entire art industry, isn't it? People already largely want art but don't want to pay for it. AI fills that need. 138 € Reply Share

Font - tobeopenmindedornot 3 hr. ago I know it's petty. I know he's not worth it. I know bring the bigger person who rises above thus is the best way to go. But as an artist who busted their to build a design business to the point of breakdown, burnout and bankruptcy in no small part due to this kind of mentality, I really, really want to f up Tom's days. All of them.

Font - Imagine running a film festival with AI art for your poster. Talk about mixed messages. "Just get ChatGPT to make a video about the polar bears! It's not in the budget to go film the f Finally, imagine being a CEO, a leader in your field, a person with a long list of tasks and responsibilities abd dedicating the amount of time and effort and sheer prettiness to deliberately taking someone out of context who clearly explained their reasons for their decisions. Who has that much time? And t

Font - Jack knew that someone would take Tom's offer. Jack was doing the right thing for his artists knowing that someone would have taken the job out of desperation and then lost hours and hours to revisions and "just whip this up for me mate, won't take you long." Tom and anyone who thinks he's in the right.
