Wordy Memes For The Moderately Literate

If you've been on TikTok recently, you probably know there's some drama in the reading community. Or maybe, you don't know that! I don't know your life or your For You Page. We all live in our little internet bubbles, and I've been privy to the bubble of BookTok for quite some time. These are the people who read 100 books a year. They have huge bookshelves covered wall to wall with the newest YA novel releases. Reading is their #1 hobby, and they'll let you know it! Some other readers have critiqued this group for gorging themselves on as many books as possible just for the sake of saying they read 100 books. Anti-BookTok people claim it's important to read things with substance instead of reading a million romance novels just because it's easy. 

I am a little bit of a snob, so I'm going to say that if the only reading you do is through wordy memes or Book Tok suggestions, you might not be doing yourself many favors. It's good to read things that challenge us throughout our lives, even if they're not always the most popular choice. I know that romance novels might be the only thing that keeps people reading once they leave school, but I don't have to like that.
