I've never been on a date with somebody who was straight-up stupid. I will take notice if somebody I'm seeing is boring or lame, but stupidity is one of those qualities that typically reveals itself gradually instead of all at once. One of my family's favorite stories is about a time when my Uncle went on a date with a girl who wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. They were going to a movie, and during the movie, she leaned over to him and said, "You don't mind if I ask a lot of questions, do ya? I'm kind of dumb, ya know." This story is greatly enhanced by the fact that she said this with a thick Minnesotan accent. If anything, I respect this girl because she knew who she was! She was keenly aware of her shortcomings, and she was transparent about her needs during the date. We stan this dumb Minnesotan teen from the 70s!
