Rambunctious Family of Purring Raccoon Rescues Living Their Best Life in Canada Thanks to Kind Human

Meet Rocky, Jacky, and Roxanne, a cute family of raccoon rescues. @jeffletendre uploads inspiring and amazing content to his Instagram page, spreading love and awareness not only about our furry raccoon friends but about other animals as well. This week we've decided to share what's going on with three of the raccoons he rescued that now form an adorable pack, that he released into the wild.

Jeff takes care of wounded animals, patching them up and making them all better. Then he sends them back into their natural habitat, where they belong. He takes them out for some mini-training to make sure they will assimilate nicely back into their original surroundings.

What an adorable pair!

He created an amazing enclosure next to the forest where he releases the raccoons, and it's only meters away from a river, which is ideal. The furry critters snuggle together at night and keep each other warm, as the Canadian temperatures are pretty freezing!

When he was training the sweeties to get used to nature once again, he took them on trips to rivers so that their instincts would kick in and they would learn how to cross them. Raccoons actually LOVE water, and they are great swimmers! Check out these cuties enjoying themselves below.

As you can see, they are really having a blast. They are actually called ‘wash bears' in many languages. They scavenge around shallow rivers, lakes, and ponds for crawfish, frogs, eggs, and insects. Gross for humans, but they are a raccoon delicacy. They have really sensitive paws and tap the water as if they are smelling it.

As previously stated, Jeff takes the raccoons to their natural habitat so they can learn to cross rivers — but they also learn to hunt, eat plants and climb trees. They are SO adorable, we can barely stand it.

They also apparently really like sinks, because it reminds them of a nest.

If you ever chance upon one that needs some help, Jeff says it's best to call a raccoon refuge, as they may be adorable at first, but they are wild animals and behave as such the older they get. Refuges know how to properly care for them and will release the sweethearts back into the wild when they are ready.

Below you'll find some adorable videos that are must-sees! Have you ever seen a raccoon purr? Yeah, it's quite something. Check it out down below.
