Font - 1 week notice to 1 day notice in one easy step! So have job - long hours, in-office, extreme pressure, and no leadership from management at all. I hate it. I tried to voice my concerns but they went unheard. Monday, I gave my notice thanking for the opportunity and that I was leaving for both personal and professional reasons. Gave it to my direct manager who accepted it well and all seemed good. Now just a waiting game!

Font - Well, today I was called into my Director's office. I assumed it was about me leaving, maybe wanting to discuss why, etc. I go in and he immediately states "only a week notice?". I say yes then explain that I wanted to take some time off before my new job and that this hasn't been the mentally healthiest position and that a week would give me time to finish my projects and pass everything over to the rest of the team. He blows up and gives me a lecture about how "a two weeks notice is req

Font - I stand up and say "You know what? You were lucky to get a week but now I have decided today is my last day." and left. Loaded up my stuff and now get to go enjoy an early lunch. I never felt better and more relieved.

Font - cernus76 1 day ago Congrats! I did the same 18 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was a consultant at that time and got an offer from my client I could not refuse. This put me in hot waters but they got half day notice at the end even if it was supposed to be 3 months.

Font - WillBottomForBanana. 23 hr. ago It hardly matters to the workplace. They are going to take 2 month to fill the position, if they fill it at all. Having the two weeks to find and/or train someone is meaningless.

Font - LobsterLovingLlama 19 hr. ago They think they have power over an employee who has resigned. Completely delusional.

Font - Weak-Engineering8853. 15 hr. ago Last job told me two weeks was "a slap in the face." I'd been there 10 years and was doing most of the heavy lifting in my department. It's true, I couldn't pass on all of my knowledge in two weeks. Sucks for them, though. They should've treated me better.

Font - Several Knee_9143. 21 hr. ago Today is my last day at my job and I did give 2 weeks notice but cut it short after hearing his bulls excuse as to why he couldn't give me more money. So I took my last floating holiday since they don't pay when you leave. This idiot texted me on my day off to see if I would have the time to set up a couple of executive offices before I left and I told him no because I'm taking vacation

Font - Old-AF 16 hr. ago I am so HAPPY to see this younger generation stand up for itself and stop taking bull from hostile work environments! Good for all of you! I wish I had learned this at your age, but it took me longer.

Font - AlbinoWino11 14 hr. ago . You're leaving the toxic work environment I've created!? I'll make it even more toxic to convince you to stay. Who are these people?

Font - No_Breath_9833 - 21 hr. ago I don't understand why employers think they can treat new employees like this. Like dude, seriously, I could just leave this role off my resume and look like I had a longer break between jobs. Professional courtesy should go both ways employer isn't professionally courteous, I'm not going to be either.

Font - ipsok 17 hr. ago My wife quit a job once... she decided to go get a coffee. The barista does the usual "how's your day going?" And my wife says "I just quit my job." As if it was the most refreshing thing she's ever done (it was)... poor barista did not have a canned response ready for that one lol.

Font - gilgobeachslayer. 22 hr. ago They wouldn't give you the notice so you don't need to give it to them. Enjoy that lunch. Treat yourself. After I quit my last job I got a wonderful lunch at a fancy restaurant with a couple glasses of wine.
