This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/FirstContribution236, who set up cameras with their partner in front of their home and ensured that the neighbors' property would not be captured. However, this Karen (who was on the board of the HOA) decided that these cameras violated the bylaws despite there being no real rule about cameras. Still, she had the HOA send a strongly worded letter demanding that the cameras be taken down because they were a "nuisance" to the neighbors.
The couple stood their ground and although they did eventually lose the case, they knew they would never be required to pay a fine. However, they also made sure that this process would be drawn out for a long time so that the HOA would have to pay a ton of legal fees along the way.
