Lucky Ducks! Puddles and Muffin, a pair of rescue ducks, escaped the slaughterhouse and now live a life of luxury

Duck meat is a pretty common poultry that has been in society's recipe books for centuries. Fois gras, peking duck, pečená kachna, and roast duck are all some very popular dishes across the globe. However, just because they're delicious doesn't mean that they also don't make amazing pets. This moral dilemma has been discussed at the dinner table by many vegans over the years, but one duck hero took things to the next level when she rescued a pair of ducklings from slaughter, bringing them home to be loved instead of boiled.

These two ducks lucked out when they met their new mom when they were just tiny yellow fuzz-balls at the duck farm. With her heart swollen with empathy, one woman took two ducks away from the most dangerous environment and brought them home to live in her house. These ducks basically traded a short and unhappy life for a luxurious, sunshine-filled existence that most fowl can only dream of.

These munchkins are nothing to flap your wings at either. Apparently according to their loving mom, ducks are actually a fickle critter to care for. Sure they're cheap to buy ($10/duckling), but after that, they require tons of love, care, and a special diet to stay healthy. In fact, she has created her Instagram and TikTok accounts in order to educate people and increase duck-pet awareness because she has seen so many pet ducks or meat ducks be discarded in the wild to fend for themselves after their rescuers gave up on them.

Her passion for ducks has increase ten fold since having the birds herself. Fortunately for Puddles and Muffin, they're spoiled beyond belief and will never have to endure the harsh realities of the outside world again. That doesn't stop the onslaught of commenters on her posts asking when she plans to eat her adorable duckos. Apparently some people can't get the dreams of pečená kachna out of their heads.

All jokes aside, Puddles and Muffin seem to have their lives cut out for them. All it took was the altruistic drive to save them from their demise and now they're taking baths indoors, rooting for worms in manicured grass, and living in the duck-equivalent of the Taj Mahal. Plus it's safe to say that they're just too ducking adorable to eat.

They are my whole world, I could never eat them
