Sky - Hi Tracy, I wanted to let you know in the most respectful way that what you and Terry did this morning was rather rude and unprofessional.

Sky - This was my second interview where I came in and was told the company had no intention of hiring me. I do not understand the thought process behind it.

Font - I would love to take Terry's advice and continue with my education, but that requires money. To pay for bills and school, this means I need a decently paying job. After 22 online rejections, I was so excited to have an interview so maybe I could pursue my goals and make a decent living.

Blue - You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly.

Sky - Being told it coming in early was a "Test" while knowing you were not going to hire me was an extra insult. I came in sick, so I think I should get extra points on that test. I also missed the ten minutes I get to spend with my family every day since they work 13 hour night shifts and I work days. I'd like a point on the test for that too.

Sky - I only write this to you to try and make you understand that this was not a very nice thing to do. I ask you please do not do this to anyone else in my position. It is not nice to raise someone's hopes just to have an opportunity to patronize them.

The OP shared that they never heard back from the company, and others encouraged them to escalate the situation to higher-ups

Font - fightingsleep You should leave feedback on Glassdoor. Heck, I might even leave a Google review. Should get their attention.

Font - PaloVerdePride They're management, of COURSE they dont have legitmate work to do! They probably knock off early to go to the bar every day, or golfing. (No lie, this used to happen with the management and sales reps at my first job out of college. Our shift production chief had to go to the bar and haul one of them out because he hadn't completed the paperwork on a rush order that had to be filled that night. He was a boss, but unfortunately not THE boss.)

Font - Ismenessister This has reaffirmed my belief, that a good chunk of "job listings", are just market research and of jobfishing. This was a polite tell off. Shame on them and their organization.

Font - o jobventthrowaway I've been interviewed by people who had no intention of hiring me but wanted to give me a hard time for not being what they want. Like "oh you don't have X and you've never done Y and why did you do Z and not A". 45 Reply Share d theelctricfence OP The first time this happened to me was when I was in college and applied for an accounting internship. I got there, and the lady said, "you haven't had enough classes. Why did you even apply?" The Lady had my transcripts with

Font - pulstar13 Yeah, like I've already spent hours and days working with resume building orgs to get THIS interview! I don't need anymore help with that. If you didn't like what was on it, then why the did you waste my time with this interview? I don't need you telling me why I'm not the right candidate when you're the one who should have done their job and actually looked at my resume more than 5 minutes before I actually get to the interview! Man, people are a bles sometimes. Sorry, little b

Font - [deleted] Tracy and Terry's boss should be asking why those two have the time to waste playing sick mind games on job applicants. Maybe tracy and Terry need to be the ones looking for job. Reply Share 22 d It's Terry's small business. theelctricfence OP

Font - Polz34 As a hiring manager this is disgusting. I'd never interview someone if I wasn't giving them a fair shot at a position. I really don't get why any company would do this!
