Parenting Facebook groups have obsessions with the many "natural remedies" they think will cure all childhood ailments. My favorite supposed cure-all miracle is breastmilk. For some reason, crunchy moms think that breastmilk can do anything. I will give credit where credit is due: breastmilk offers babies essential nutrients they can't get anywhere else. Unfortunately, breast milk does not cure ear infections. You cannot squirt breastmilk in a blind man's eye and make him see again. Breastmilk is great, but it's not that great.
I can't even be mad at these people for believing in this hogwash. There are so many conspiracies in online parenting spaces about the medical field, and if you believe enough of them, you might just start squirting breastmilk into a sick baby's ear. I'm sorry to break it to crunchy moms, but doctors are actually kind of rad. I would 10/10 recommend using them if you can.
