There are many unique and amazing things about cat ownership. Cats are wonderful pets. They are calm, the are quiet, they are purrfectly lovely (most of the time). So, why, oh why, are cat people known as… crazy cat people? Why is that adjective attached to us as a group, and do we deserve it? Could it possibly have to do with some of the things that we start doing over time as cat owners? Could it be because, eventually, we start having conversations with our cats? Could it be because we keep buying our cats expensive toys and trees and gadgets despite knowing that they will not use them? Could it be because we find it totally normal to be woken up in the middle of the night because our cat started zooming?
Welp, our answer is yes. Yes, cat ownership will drive you crazy eventually, and the tweets in this collection capture exactly that kind of madness. But… well, sometimes, love indeed makes you go crazy, and we love our cats so much that we don't even mind.
Admit it, okay? There's no shame, not here, not on ICanHasCheezburger. We are all crazy cat people here, and we are proud of it, okay? So, admit it, you have done this in the past. You cat was doing absolutely nothing special - objectively - but it was special to you, so you forced it upon someone else. That's fine. We're not shaming you. This is a safe space for crazy cat people.
Of course this is the reaction cat people would have to this predicament. We're talking about the insanity of forcing other people to look at your cats and see how special they are when they're doing nothing but napping, and the response that cat people on twitter have is to force other people to look at your cats and see how special they are when they're doing nothing but napping.
