Some people think that their continued manipulative or abusive behavior will go unchecked. Often, they've been getting away with it for so long that why would they have any expectation otherwise? Well, whether it's finally writing an attitude check that's too big to cash or simply pure karmic justice… it catches up with you eventually.
This horrible manager finally got her just deserts for her continued harassment and micromanaging of a team member. The team member had joined the company in a lower role than she was working previously after being laid off and desperate to find work.
After finally having enough, the team member quit but was offered an opportunity to rejoin the company by a "big shot" executive she used to work with. This time, she was several levels higher in the company, higher than the manager and with the ear of the upper management team. She almost wouldn't have to do a thing; this manager was surprisingly keen to out herself and get fired.
