What a way to go out! Imagine working in a toxic environment, but just keeping your head down and going through the motions—you need the money, after all. But then one day BAM some realizes the full toxicity of the company and you finally get the justice you deserved.
Well, that is exactly what happened to this guy on Reddit. User @Ha-Funny-Boy posted to the subreddit r/pettyrevenge, however we think this is more like a justice served situation. The poster said that he had agreed to a salary-exempt job, which meant he didn't get paid for overtime. That being said, he didn't expect to be working past the hours he was assigned. But the toxic workplace he was at said "nah, we gonna take advantage of this *manacle laugh*!!!" He tried to get comp-time, but they refused. The employee just did what he was told, but then five years later he gets a letter in the mail saying there has been a class action lawsuit made against the company for "misclassifying" salary-exempt. So guess what? They guy got $5,000!
And if that wasn't already a sweet deal, he got laid off but was able to stay on salary for three months, so he was getting paid for doing nothing. He truly left that toxic workplace with a bam and we all feel satisfied for him.
