Rebellious Dog of the Week: French Boar Hunting Doggo Forgets All About the Pork and Rolls in Mud Puddles Instead

In France, the majority of wild animal attacks can be blamed by the least suspicious creatures in the forest: Boars. Sure, the country isn't host to a whole myriad of native predators like sharks, wolves, or bears, but they do have an even sketchier creature. Feral swine can get up to 250lbs in the wild and are insanely durable and fast, not to mention boars are territorial and aggressive. So a lot of French folks who live in the countryside take special care when walking through the forest to avoid getting impaled by scary boarish tusks.

The best way to deter a boar in the wild is to have a trusty doggo along with you on a walk in the woods. As long as your pooch is around, the boar will most likely not come near you because of the scent of a “predator” alongside you. One French woman, a lady who lives deep in the countryside on a farm, got a dog exactly for that reason, to deter boars from bothering her in the wild. However, the pup she employed as her savior had more interest in other tasks. 

Meet Sheilla the mud dog. Not only does Sheilla have very little interest in protecting her hooman from dangerous wild boar, but she actually would prefer to be an absolute menace on a walk instead of enjoying the scenery. Although, I suppose you could argue that she's enjoying the scenery a little too much.

Sheilla happily plunges into every mud pool she can find, completely dousing herself in the forbidden soup. This mud is so thick and caked on, you can't even see Sheilla's natural colors. Oh boy.

As it turns out, Sheilla is a wirey hunting doggo, who couldn't care less about hunting. She only cares about woodland mischief, which is made clear by her constant search for debauchery. She is happy to plunge into pretty much any pool as long as it has nothing to do with boar protection or maintaining any sense of hygiene. 

All we can hope is that Sheilla is able to get a good shower at home after deep cleansing your pores and hopefully, please omg hopefully, she never actually has to run into a boar IRL. She would be unequipped.
